THE OLIVE TREE FOUNDATION SEEKS A SECRETARY
TO JOIN BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Olive Tree Foundation is seeking to fill the position of Secretary on its Board of Directors. This is a volunteer position for a 3-year term. By joining us, you will get the opportunity to make a difference in many lives, as well as establish future community initiatives. The Olive Tree Foundation is a Waqf that promotes community development through the collection of endowed funds to fund community initiatives.REQUIREMENTS:
- Commitment to the work of the community foundation
- Knowledge and skills in one or more areas of board governance and management: planning, policy, finance, fund development, human resource management, investment, grant making, communications, etc.
- Be willing to embrace the Foundation's mission of philanthropic leadership in the community and support its objectives in asset building and grantmaking
- Have a reputation within his or her profession and the community that would serve to enhance the public image of the Foundation.
- Willingness to serve on committees
- Attendance at monthly Board meetings, committee meetings and annual general meetings
- Support of fund development activities
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SECRETARY BOARD MEMBER:
- Records minutes at all monthly Board meetings
- Distributes Board meeting minutes as well as Committee minutes (it is the responsibility of the Committees to send their minutes to the Secretary)
- Ensures all Board and Committee meeting minutes are archived
- Maintains records of all Board and Committee email correspondences
- Maintain a list of all current and past officers of the Board and Committees
