Olive Tree Foundation Funds Youth Interfaith Peacebuilding Initiative

The Olive Tree Foundation has awarded a grant to the Azerbaijani Women’s Support Centre (AWSC) to empower young leaders from diverse religious backgrounds in Canada. The grant will support a series of interfaith training workshops designed to foster understanding, reduce prejudice, and promote peaceful coexistence.

“In a world increasingly divided by religious differences, it's imperative to invest in our youth as agents of change,” said Dr. Nazila Isgandarova, a founder and advisory committee member of AWSC. “By equipping them with the tools of interfaith dialogue and peacebuilding, we can create a more harmonious and inclusive society.”

The initiative will focus on training young leaders aged 18-35 from various religious communities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Through interactive workshops, participants will explore their own beliefs, learn about different faiths, and develop strategies for effective interfaith communication.

“This project aligns perfectly with our mission to promote community development and foster positive change,” said Muneeb Nasir, Chair of the Olive Tree Foundation. “By bringing together young people from diverse religious backgrounds, we hope to inspire a new generation of peacebuilders.”
